Oregon Criminal Justice Truth Project

The Oregon Criminal Justice Truth Project is a non-profit organization established to provide accurate and timely information about Oregon’s public safety system.

OCJTP is a resource for policy makers, the media, and Oregon citizens. A venue for honest discourse about one of the foundations of our civil society – our system of criminal justice.

Founded by retired district attorneys in 2024, the board of OCJTP represents over 100 years of prosecutorial experience from across the state.

OCJTP is dedicated to ensuring Oregonians know the truth about what is happening across our criminal justice system.

Our Approach

OCJTP is about accuracy, accountability, engagement and outreach.

  • We will analyze public policy and assess its impact on your safety and well-being.

  • We will review the actions of state and local leaders, to hold them accountable on matters impacting criminal justice in our community.

  • We will collaborate with and support advocacy organizations committed to amplifying the voices of victims.

  • We will connect experts in the field of criminal justice with policymakers and media representatives to bring balance to public discourse.

  • We will maintain and regularly update an informative website and active social media presence to elevate the perspectives of criminal justice professionals and victims, and victims’ rights advocates.

  • We will help to develop policy recommendations in coordination with other public safety partners.
